Topcon announces all new Elite Survey Suite

Auckland, New Zealand, July 11th, 2016

In one of the largest releases of new products in recent years, world-renowned positioning and spatial surveying specialists Topcon has announced a new suite of integrated hardware and software solutions, designed to provide professionals with a powerful survey toolbox.

With three hardware products linked together by a single software solution, the all-new Topcon Elite Survey Suite has been designed with speed, ease-of-use and seamless integration in mind.

“We’re extremely excited to be able to offer this comprehensive suite of survey technology to the New Zealand industry,” says Mike Milne, Managing Director of Topcon distributor and consultancy firm, Synergy Positioning Systems.

“In bundling together these systems – which have all been engineered by Topcon to work as a whole – we’re offering a solution that is a first-of-its-kind for surveyors.”

The Topcon Elite Survey Suite features the new GT series of robotic total stations, the Topcon HiPer HR hybrid GNSS receiver, FC-5000 field computer and – bringing every aspect together – the powerful Topcon MAGNET 4.0 software system.

Topcon GT Series

Featuring Ultra Sonic Direct Drive motors for industry-leading speed, the GT series of robotic total stations are compact, lean, high-performance hardware that offer a huge degree of flexibility.

GT series robotic total stations boast a turning speed of up to 180 degrees per second and offer the efficiency of a single-operator robotic system, with the power of long-range reflectorless measurements and the ability to perform as a hybrid positioning solution.

Topcon HiPer HR GNSS receiver

The rugged and accurate Topcon HiPer HR cross-functional GNSS receiver covers a broad range of applications, making it an integral component of the Elite Survey Suite.

The HiPer HR has already won accolades for its ability to overcome field challenges; freeing up survey professionals working within wide ranges, under tree cover and in rough terrain to go about their daily tasks.

Thanks to its Topcon Inertial Leveling Technology (TILT) – which incorporates a nine-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) and a digital compass – the HiPer HR can accurately compensate for up to 15° of tilt on the rod.

Topcon FC-5000 handheld field computer

Topcon likes to say the FC-5000 is “field fit”, straight out of the box.

With an impressive IP68 certification rating, the FC-5000 will certainly go the distance in the harshest environments New Zealand can throw at it. It will even operate after being submerged in water down to one meter for up to two hours.

Featuring an Intel® Atom™ Z3745 processor and intuitive Windows® 10 operating system, the FC-5000 brings rapid processing speeds normally associated with a desktop system out into the field.

Topcon MAGNET 4.0

MAGNET software is trusted worldwide and offers up integration, connectivity and productivity to effortlessly manage entire project workflow. Combined with the hardware offered in the Topcon Elite Survey Suite, MAGNET 4.0 represents the brain behind the brawn.

Topcon is constantly developing and evolving MAGNET. Now with version 4.0, this modern software solution can provide survey professionals with seamless workflow, asset management and tracking, Autodesk and Bentley data integration, real-time data exchanges between the office and field and much more.

“Not only does the Topcon Elite Survey Suite represent a smarter, more efficient way of working, but each individual component of the suite is a flagship Topcon product in itself,” concludes Mike Milne.

“This means the suite offers excellent value to survey professionals, providing an all-in-one package that simply isn’t offered anywhere else in the industry.

“What’s more, every component of the Topcon Elite Survey Suite is supported by the same skilled team, which will give our clients even more confidence in the field.”
